Regulations concerning Livestock on Stands at PATS 2025

Please ensure you read the following information carefully before submitting your Form 2.  All forms must be submitted as soon as possible to the Organisers, for approval by the Venue, and no later than the deadline date on this form.  Late entries cannot be accepted.

a)         Livestock/Animals shall at all times be kept in suitable accommodation (i.e. size, cleanliness, ventilation, lighting, temperature) in line with the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and any relevant and subsequent legislation.

b)         Livestock/Animals being exhibited outside of a cage/enclosure must be suitably controlled or adequately tethered AT ALL TIMES to ensure the safety of visitors and staff.

Dogs MUST be kept on leads and can be exercised outside of the venue.  Specific routes and areas for this will be advised prior to the show.  Removal of waste is the responsibility of the exhibitor.

c)         Only the exhibitor or an authorised member of their staff will be permitted to remove animals from their enclosures.

d)         If the stand is left unattended, exhibitors must ensure that all livestock/animals are properly contained.
In the case of these being left overnight on the stand adequate provisions must be made to ensure the welfare of livestock/animals and a 24hr contact number MUST be supplied on Form 2.

e)         No selling of livestock/animals, such as birds or fish, will be permitted within the exhibition hall either during or after the exhibition.

f)          Any livestock/animals deemed to be potentially dangerous shall be effectively guarded to prevent injury to others and this safety must be maintained throughout.  In some instances a keeper may need to be present at all times – please contact the Organisers if this is applicable to your stand.

g)         It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor to ensure they have taken out adequate insurance on their stand to cover any livestock/pets brought on-site.

h)         Any dogs being kept on exhibitor’s stands MUST have an official pass.  These are sent out on receipt of this form two weeks before the show.  The pass can be looped around their collar.

i)          There will be specific walking routes to and from the hall as dogs are not permitted on the Piazza.  These must be adhered to.  These will be communicated to you nearer to the show, together with which hall access door to use.

j)          No dogs are allowed on stands during the build-up and breakdown of the show.  All livestock MUST be removed at breakdown.  There will be 30 minutes after the close of the show on Tuesday 30th September before the halls become a CDM site – all dogs MUST be removed before this time for safety and welfare reasons.  Arrangements must be made in advance for the removal of livestock in aquariums/vivariums at breakdown.

k)         If you intend to permit visitors to pet the dog on your stand, you will need to have hand sanitiser on your stand for their use.

The Organisers & Venue(s) reserve the right to limit the number and type of livestock/animals exhibited without giving reason and to instruct the removal of any unfit or unsuitable livestock.

Don’t forget - if you need water on your stand you must order this with the venue via the “Water & Waste” form in the exhibitor manual.

Please note – visitors are not allowed to bring dogs or any other animals to the show, with the exception of assistance dogs.

We are thrilled with the incredible response from our very first exhibition at PATS! The three days were absolutely brilliant, giving us the opportunity to connect with many new and existing customers. PATS proved to be the perfect platform for launching our new catalogue and introducing over 350 brand-new SKUs. We can't wait to be a part of next year's event at the NEC!

I think it’s a great idea to add a third day to PATS. We’re here for all three days, giving us enough time to meet everyone and make informed decisions about stocking new products. We also like PATS because of all the networking opportunities.

At PATS 2024 it was lovely to reconnect with our existing customers while also having the opportunity to meet potential new ones. We were thrilled to launch three new ranges during the show, Canagan Petite, Canagan Raw (Freeze Dried Treats and Toppers) and Symply Little, all of which have sold amazingly well, further highlighting the value of this event for showcasing our innovations. Looking ahead, we believe that the Birmingham NEC could offer significant advantages, including improved transport links and a larger venue to accommodate a growing number of exhibitors and visitors, both will enhance the overall experience.

We’ve been rushed off our feet on all three days. It has been an excellent show and I love the fact you can spend more time with visitors. I will definitely need a larger stand in 2025

We’ve missed going to Aqua so we’re really happy to be visiting the Aquatics Zone at PATS. We’ve come to see the new products, find out about deals on offer and meet people face to face. It’s also a great opportunity for networking with other shops and companies and building new relationships – something we have missed out on during the Covid years

We’ve come to PATS for the whole three days because you just can’t do it justice in only two. For us, as we deal with the whole spectrum of the pet industry, we spend day one wandering through the halls to see what catches our eye and day two doing our buying – but we’ve found that by the end of the second day we haven’t always got round to everyone. So the third day is a real bonus. There is less of a rush to get it all done and we can spend more time building relationships and ensuring we’ve caught all the deals and found all the new products we might want to stock. PATS is an important highlight of the year and we wouldn’t want to miss any of it!

It was great to see the Aquatics Zone sold out and full of exhibitors. For us at J&K it was a pleasure, as always, to catch up with a good number of our longstanding customers as well as meet with and introduce our brands and product ranges to potential new ones. Hopefully the new format for 2025, moving into a larger venue, capable of accommodating even more exhibitors, and with better air, road and rail access, will encourage even more visitors, allowing the show to grow in the years to come.

I’m a big advocate of having three show days because it gives you more time to spend with clients. PATS keeps growing in a good way because it gives more companies – big and small, old and new – the platform to make their mark. I had a look at the New Starter Zone and loved the buzz that these new companies were creating. PATS is great for the UK pet industry
