BrewBix, the innovative company behind carbon-neutral, vegan dog biscuits made from spent brewery grain, is delighted to announce a new chapter in its journey. Following the sale of the business in July 2023 by founder Tom, ownership has passed to Bruce, who has appointed lifelong animal lover and environmental advocate, Angela, as Director to lead BrewBix into the future.
BrewBix was born in the kitchen of Tom, who at the time was working at Villages Brewery in London’s East End. When the Covid pandemic hit, small craft breweries were heavily impacted. Seeing an opportunity to tackle both waste and sustainability, Tom transformed leftover brewing grain into a nutritious, eco-friendly treat for dogs. With help from The Big Biscuit Company and Holly Barker of Sport Dog Nutrition, BrewBix refined its recipe to deliver biscuits that are not only healthy and tasty for all dogs but also environmentally responsible.
From day one, BrewBix has stood for innovation and ethics:
•Carbon Neutral – every biscuit is crafted with sustainability in mind.
•Vegan Friendly & Healthy – made for dogs of all types, with expert nutritional input.
•Plastic-Free Packaging – protecting the planet while treating pets.
Angela, a passionate supporter of Friends of the Earth since 1984 and lifelong advocate for animal welfare, reflects on her new role:
“A year on, I truly understand Tom’s vision and Bruce’s decision to support such a pure, ethical, forward-thinking dog treat concept. Being part of a small business that gives us all a conscious opportunity to reduce plastic pollution, live more sustainably, and lower the ‘dog carbon paw print’ has been life-changing for me.”
BrewBix continues to grow thanks to the support of its community of loyal dog lovers who share photos and videos of their pets enjoying the treats. “The best part of my day,” Angela adds, “is seeing your gorgeous dogs enjoying BrewBix. Please keep them coming – @BrewBix.”
BrewBix is poised to spread its mission further: making sustainability simple, one delicious dog biscuit at a time.
