Excitement over the biggest-ever PATS continued into the second day – Monday 29th September – as visitors flooded into Hall 1 of the NEC Birmingham for another lively day of trading.

Exhibitors reported busy stands all day with retailers and buyers eager to see, feel and touch the latest products to be launched onto the market.

The Pet & Aquatics Trade Show, co-locating with leading equestrian trade show BETA International (Hall 2), has seen over 430 exhibitors showcasing hundreds of new products.

The aisles and stands were a hive of activity throughout the second day as retailers and buyers sought out the bestsellers of tomorrow.

The Nutriment Company was exhibiting multiple brands and acknowledged that PATS gave it the ideal platform to showcase a wide range of products. Peter Roy, managing director UK, was keen to emphasise the high quality of visitors to the company’s stand, commenting: “This exhibition is important for us to talk to key decision makers and lead them through our multiple brands. It has been a great couple of days so far.”

It was the official launch of new company Barkin & Meowson at PATS, wowing visitors with a striking and stylish stand. “The company and its range of products have been two years in the making, and we wanted to make an impact on the pet trade – PATS has been the perfect place to achieve our goal. We’ve had an amazing response, and the show has been fantastic,” said managing director Andy Poole.

The PATS New Product Award winners have been celebrating their success on day two of the show, relishing the opportunity to shout about their achievements to visitors.

Bellas Apothecary, exhibiting in the New Starter Zone, won the Best Pet Care New Product Award with its RunFree Pet Supplement and director Liz Rostand said: “We’re very grateful that all our hard work has been rewarded in this way. We’re thrilled to be a part of PATS – what an amazing show.”

Northern Ireland exhibitor barkinBISTRO took the Best Dog Food honours with its Pancreatic Support. The company’s Joanne Tohill said: “I’m overwhelmed, and this recognition will give us the impetus and confidence to bring more innovative products toi market. It’s the best show we’ve been to, either as an exhibitor or visitor.”

Recycled dog gear company Woolly Wolf made the trip from Finland and felt the journey was well worthwhile after winning the Best Dog Wear category with its Alpha 360 Fleece Pullover. Co-founder and designer Maria Vanonen said: “It’s a dream come true, and payoff for all those hard years of product development. We’ve had a warm welcome and a really positive response to our range. We’ll definitely be booking stand space for next year’s show.”

In the Aquatics Zone New Product Showcase, Monkfield Reptile won with Arcadia EvoRX. Managing director Jo Wise said: “What I love about our winning product is that all areas of the business came together to develop it – it was a real team effort. We knew it was a great product but we’re thrilled to have it recognised with a New Product Award from PATS.”

Retailers and buyers revealed why PATS is the place to visit.

Lewis Enderby, owner of The Empawrium pet shop in Sutton Coldfield, said: “It’s great. We love the NEC as a venue, so we were very happy when we found out it was coming here. The show looks bigger and better than ever! Best of all there is so much to see and so many people to catch up with that we’ve been here all morning and only made it past the first few aisles – it’s going to be a busy day ahead.”

Kenneth Wilkie, of The Koi Collection in Corley, said: “It’s a great show and I particularly like the layout and the wide aisles. There’s so much to see.”

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is the final day of PATS 2025. Doors open at 9.30 am and the show closes at 4pm.
